Anura Meddegoda PC appointed as BASL President
Mr. Anura Meddegoda PC who has been elected by the Bar Council to the office of the President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka. In March 2021, I had the privilege of nominating Mr. Meddegoda as Deputy President of the BASL and he served in that capacity during my two-year tenure as President. Recently he was elected once more as Deputy President of the BASL and for the last few weeks has been acting President. Mr. Meddegoda was very much in the forefront of the BASL’s stand on the rule of law, the independence of the judiciary and protection of the rights of the people.
Colombo, September 28 (Daily Mirror)- The Bar Council of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) has appointed Anura Maddegoda, PC, as the BASL President and Razik Zarook, PC as the Deputy President, the BASL Secretary .
