Rajeev Amarasuriya elected new BASL President

Colombo, Feb 19 (Daily Mirror) – Attorney-at-Law Rajeev Amarasuriya has been elected as the 29th President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) for the year 2025-2026 after securing a clear majority over his rival candidate Attorney-at-Law Dr. Sunil Abeyaratne.
According to official results, Rajeev Amarasuriya polled 4,497 votes while his rival candidate Dr. Sunil Abeyaratne polled 1,667 votes.
Rajeev Amarasuriya has been declared the winner with a majority of 2,830 votes.(DAILY MIRROR LK NEWS)
